A Nostalgic Halloween

Lately, I’ve been leaning into my creative side more than ever, and Halloween this year is no different. Instead of buying the same mass-produced costumes everyone else has — often cheaply made and overpriced — I’m focusing on homemade, imaginative outfits that feel personal and fun. Not only is it more meaningful, but in this economy, it just makes sense to press pause on Spirit Halloween, get crafty, and make memories that don’t come from a store shelf.

As September comes to a close, it’s a good time to look back on what worked this month and where we felt stretched thin. Moving into October and deeper into fall, prioritizing routines that support balance— from skincare to home organization to family rhythms —can help set the tone for a smoother season.

Fall always seems to sneak up on us. One minute we’re buying school supplies and labeling backpacks, and the next—pumpkin patches are open, football season is in full swing, and holiday planning is staring us right in the face. Between back-to-school routines, after-school sports, weekend festivities, and prepping for the holidays, it’s easy to feel like your schedule is running you instead of the other way around.

Fall skincare isn’t about chasing every trend—it’s about making thoughtful changes that keep your skin hydrated, protected, and glowing well into the holiday season.

It’s a bittersweet milestone. On one hand, I can’t believe how quickly time has flown—my toddlers turned into big kids right before my eyes. On the other, I can feel a new season of motherhood approaching, one where I’ll experience something I haven’t in over a decade: quiet. Real, uninterrupted, solitary quiet.
